Ecological Investments - Olive Grove Investments.


This olive grove (finca rustica) situated in Catalonia, Spain has 600 olive trees 29 are millennium olive trees. The land is cultivated.


The re sale value of olive trees, especially Millennium olive trees can be as much as Eu 5000 each. Younger olive trees from 100 years old can vary between Eu 199 and Eu 5000.


Olive trees are in huge demand, normally from countries outside of Catalonia, Spain, in particular northern European countries. One of the largest garden centres in France, for example retail millennium olive trees at Eu 8000 each.


This finca has a huge value of re-saleable stock which makes this Catalonia property a fantastic investment through not only the stock and crop but the land itself.


The purchase of the rustic finca is a freehold purchase and all the olive trees on the land belong to the purchaser from the completion of the purchase, signing of the escritura deed at the Notary office. FAQ’s.


Q. How do I keep my investment in good order – who will attend to the crops, keeping the ground cleared, pruning etc ?


A. We have a team of professional agriculturers who will, if you wish, oversee the upkeep of your ecological investment – as often or as infrequently as you wish. There will be a small charge for this.


 


Q. If I wish to sell the olive trees how do I go about this?


A. You may have contacts yourself. If not we have many professional contacts who purchase all manner of olive trees, and we can manage this part of your investment for you. There will be a charge for the work that is carried out and also if you sell off older trees it would be beneficial to replant with younger trees; these are very inexpensive and of course become an important part of your future investment.


 


Q. If we sell our olive trees what replaces them on the rustic finca or does the land remain naked?


A. It is wise (as above) to replace the trees that you sell to ensure that you have future stock, although this is not essential – but it does add value to the property. Typical price of young olive saplings for replanting from Eu 8 – these will produce fruit and therefore oil within 2 to 3 years.


 


Q. If I sell my olive trees will my land depreciate?


A. No, the value of the land remains constant in accordance with the economic trends appertaining. The finca will be enhanced by new plantation as the younger variety produce crops and oil rapidly.


 


Q. Am I entitled to construct on my ecological investment?


A. All construction is subject to a planning permission, a project and a written acceptance from the relevant authority. Always submit a project via a qualified professional before carrying out any construction work.
